Dear EGA Families,
It is with both gratitude and heavy hearts that we share an important update about the future of the Exceptional Georgetown Alliance.
After much discussion and careful consideration, the EGA Board has made the difficult decision that EGA will no longer operate as a nonprofit organization. Over the years, serving your children and families has been one of the greatest honors of our lives. Watching friendships form, confidence grow, and joy shine through our athletes and campers has meant more to us than words can adequately express.
Moving forward, the EGA camp, Let’s Make Friends, will transition to be operated solely by Georgetown Parks and Recreation. They see the value in the camps and plan to continue them going forward.
Our recreational services programs (basketball, baseball, and volleyball) will conclude after this year’s baseball season. Due to the retirement of the current board members, we are no longer able to sustainably continue these offerings. However, Georgetown ISD has shown interest to continue this programming so stay tuned!
This decision was not made lightly. EGA has always been rooted in love, inclusion, and community. Every practice, event, camp, and celebration has been built on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to participate, belong, and thrive.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your trust, your support, and the countless memories we have shared together. It has been a privilege to serve your children and to walk alongside your families.
With sincere gratitude,
The Exceptional Georgetown Alliance Board
